Three pianists –Alexandra Papastefanou, Lorenda Ramou and Giorgos Konstandinou– will play a section from Messogios Erimos [Mediterranean Desert] plus a classical piece of their own choosing whose style is somehow analogous. The concert will end with the world première of a work for three pianists on a single piano written especially for the concert.
Messogios Erimos (1998-2000), a work for solo piano, was commissioned by the Michael Marks Charitable Trust, and consists of 24 pieces which draw on the flora and fauna of the Mediterranean for their content.
